A Chocolatey Incident

Today's post is a valuable messgae for all you readers. Please take it seriously, I had to learn this life changing lesson the hard way...

I have just come back from town with my friend. I had many errands to complete today, so I thought that I would treat myself to a lovely, warm hot chocolate on this cold and windy day. I don't think that I am the only person that has done this before, but as I was so eager to drink my chocolate drink, I burnt my tongue on the first sip.

As I write this, I am sitting in my chair with my tongue hanging out due to the fact that it hurts too much to put back in my mouth. I may look like an idiot, but the rest of my family are out of the house, so I can turn my music up really loud and sing along to it- which isn't really working with the tongue problem.

The reason why I look like an idiot at the moment, is that I am very impatient, and when I buy a hot chocolate I sip it straight away, without letting it cool down first. DON'T DO THIS! For the sake of your tongue, please let the hot drink of your choice cool first, so that you don't end out like me. 

Don't get me wrong, the hot chocolate was lovely, but when I consumed my spicy chicken and pasta salad afterwards, it started to hurt and tingle a bit more. But I was too hungry to care, so I gulfed it back. I am now paying the price of my impatientness.

So please learn a very valuable lesson from todays post- Don't drink your hot chocolate/any hot liquid too quickly after you purchase it. Otherwise you will be like me with your tongue hanging out of your mouth looking like a right wally.

Food Glorious Food

I had myself a foody weekend this week. Its the first weekend of our half term, and my mum and dad took me out to this cute restaurant on St. Ouens Bay called 'El Tico's'. I love it there, especially the amazing chocolate brownie that they sell.

So as I'm as greddy as ever, I had a big bowl of spaghetti carbonara (which I didn't finish), and then as I was desperate for the browine, I also had that (which I also didn't finish). And as you can imagine, as my eyes are bigger than my belly, I was literally waddling out of the restaurant. I couldn't move that much afterwards, but it was so worth it. I love the food at that place.

Also, last night I went to a Chinese Restaurant near my house called 'The Mandarin Room', which I have never been to before. I went with a few of my friends and it was really nice. Me and my friend shared a portion of special fried rice, capital spare ribs, and crispy shreded duck rolls. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I love Chinese food, everyone needs a good helping of MSG every now and then.

And to top off my weekend of being extremly greedy, my dad is taking me and my sister out for lunch today. I don't know how I'm going to do it, but I'm sure I'll find a way.

As you're reading this, you're probably wondering why I'm not the size of Mount Everest at the moment. But to stay a little bit healthy this half term, I am going to two lessons of 'Zumba', my first one being tonight. I have been to 'Zumba' once before and if you're not afraid of making a fool of yourself at the beginning, then it is great fun. This is the type of exercise that I actually enjoy and I am really excited to do it again tonight!

P.S. I saw the picture at the top of this post and thought that it related quite a bit to how I felt eating my many servings of food for the past few days.

Video of the Week

I love Ed Sheeran, and I was lucky enough to see him this summer when he came to Jersey for Jersey Live this year. He was amazing, and he is so talented to do the thing with the loop pedal while he is singing and playing his guitar.

So this week, my video of the week has to be his music video to his song 'Lego House'. Rupert Grint features in this video, and I have to say, when you get to the end it is very funny. This song has been stuck in my head all day, so I think it is only fitting that Ed is on my blog this week. 

I know that the picture on the side isn't the best of quality, but I took it when I was standing in the middle of a crowd. But I think that you can tell that it is Ed Sheeran.

'I need a new suitcase deffinitely'

Sorry that I haven't posted for a while, but I have sort of thought of a new feature.

I am thinking of doing a video of the week, I will probably post it every Friday/Saturday, and I have already got one for this week.

I think most people have heard of these two little girls, they are the ones that really like Nicki Minaj and are always dressed in the princess/fairy pink costumes. If you have seen the main interview from 'Ellen', then you will know that they were sent on a shopping spree, and this video literally has me laughing so much that my sides hurt.

I think that the one with the brown hair (Sophia) has way more attitude then any teenager I've met. But she does make me laugh quite a bit. Plus, they are both really really cute.

Features are Calling

For some reason I'm having a mental block and can't think of anything to write about. I know some people would say 'well don't write anything then', but I hate the fact that I haven't written on here for the past few days.

I read other blogs and see that they have different features and things like that, so I might start to think of some over the following days. I can't promise that they will be interesting, but you don't learn without making a few mistakes along the way!

P.S I also blame my mental block on the crap weather that Jersey is experiencing at the moment, I haven't been outside today due to the fact that the wind is the horrible icy kind. The picture on the side made me laugh, but sadly it failed in giving me any new ideas- also, I think my typing is going down the pan, my fingers don't really know where the keys are today...

R.I.P Steve Jobs

Death is hard to deal with no matter who it is. Whether it's someone really close to you, or someone you just know of. Either way, as humans, we are compelled to feel sadness and sympathy whenever we hear about someone's sad passing.

Yesterday a true visionary in the world of technology sadly passed away after struggling to fight against pancreatic cancer. At the age of 56, Steve Jobs sadly passed away after changing the world with how we think about technology. As the C.E.O of 'Apple', he helped people around the world open their eyes to the way that we see technology and think about what is possible for the future.

The only thing that I own that is 'Apple' related is an iPod Touch. Even though most of us think that iPods are just regular everyday objects now, if we went back 20 years, there was nothing like that in the world at all. I find it hard to believe that only a couple of decades ago, people weren't even dreaming that technology like this could ever exist. However, it only takes one person with an idea to change this. That man was Steve Jobs. And no matter how long 'Apple' lasts for, whenever I think of technology now, the only person that I can think of is Steve Jobs. For he was that man that was brave enough to keep on pushing through when people told him that his ideas would never work. But that's the point in dreaming isn't it? You keep going when people tell you that you will never make it, and you don't stop until you reach your goal.

R.I.P Steve Jobs, and thank you for showing us to never give up on our dreams.

Incy Wincy Spider- well, not anymore...

I feel like that I've have neglected my blog for quite a while, I think it's because I've been ill and homework has really started to pile up.

So to say sorry, I thought that you might like to see a picture of Charlotte (the spider from a previous post), becasue I think that she has got a bit bigger. And also, I have treated you to a picture of my cat asleep. At the time I thought that I needed to take a picture of her because the song on the radio was 'Dynamite' by Taio Cruz, and I thought that she had the hand movements down to a tee. And just incase you haven't heard that song before, one of the lines is 'I throw my hands up in the air sometimes'- I think it's funny, but maybe it's my odd sense of humour.
