Video of the Week

Sorry that I haven't really posted since last Friday (and that this video is a day late), it's just that I have been revising and I try not to go on the computer so that I won't get distracted. But all should get back to normal next week after my exam.

So the video this week is one that I showed to my English class on Tuesday when I delivered a speech about the environment. I won't go on about the environment on here (trust me I could), but when you do watch this video please look out for all the symbolisim in it regarding the environment.

The video this week is 'Kings and Queens' by 30 Seconds to Mars, and this is my favourite music video of all time, it just makes me so happy when I watch it, and the song is amazing as well. Whenever I here the first chants of the Echelon at the beginning of the song I can't help but sing along- that may be a bad thing as I can't really sing, but I don't care when a good song is playing.

Video of the Week

This week I have decided to show you a video that I first saw a few weeks ago. It was on our PSE Day, and we were shown this at the end of the day. It's called the 'Social Media Revolution 2011', and the stats in it are shocking, as well as fascinating.

Also, I love the backing music. It's called 'Baba Yetu' by Christopher Tin, and I only found this out today, but it is the Lord's Prayer but in Swahili. I have to say it sounds a lot more upbeat though.

Merry Christmas, Everyone

Sorry that I haven't posted in a while, but I have been a bit busy (the picture proves it). Sadly I have been revising... an annoying and boring topic I know, and now my bedroom has many mathematical posters on the walls. But the sad part is that I haven't even covered half of the topic yet.

On a happier note, today me and my sister were dancing to 'Merry Chritsmas Everyone' by Shakin' Stevens (I think that's the right one). And no, we didn't put on a CD, it was on the Radio. Radio 1 to be exact during the Scott Mills Show at about 6 ish. We were prancing around the kitchen together in a joyous fashion and it really got me thinking. Now that we are in Novemebr, we are basically in the run up to Christmas. So I think that we should all embrace this news and get in the Christmasy spirit.

After all, I have already purchased my Where's Wally advent calender- well, I did that at the beginning of October.

Who You Gonna Call? GHOST BUSTERS!

I actually quite like Halloween. I don't mind it when little kids knock on my door to carry out the tradition of trick or treating. I sometimes can't help but open the door to great the little 'uns to an 'aww', as some of their costumes are so cute.

However, what does bug me is when older kids don't make an effort and still expect sweets. My mum stood up to them this year and forced some teenagers to put on their masks in order to get their desired treats. This made me laugh so much, as she still refused to give 2 oyt of the 4 boys the sweets when they refused to put their masks back on.

So I think we should take a leaf out of my mum's book for next year. If you aren't going trick or treating, maybe you should make the older ones who do embarass themseleves by making them wear their costumes. This could become a bit of fun on behalf of the treat giver outers, we need to make the night fun and not get pissed off every time a little child rings the door bell.

I just thought that I would post a picture of my Halloween costume from last year. Me and my sister went as Jedward (the annoying X Factor twins), and we went in their Ghost Buster costumes. We went full out and had tin foil covered rucksacks and evrything. We even made masks.

So lets all learn from this years events, and make next year an even better Haloween, by embarassing the teenagers who think that they can scrounge free sweets off of strangers. I can tell that it's going to be fun.

Snacks Galore

I had the cutest little surprise from my Auntie Di today. She brought me and my family a haloween cupcake each (the one in the picture). I had mine after tea tonight and it was delicious. It had rich chocolate butter icing on top, with a really tasty orange pumpkin on top of that. I'm not sure what the pumpkin was made out of, but it was my favourite part. However, the cake itself, was a lovely chocolaty muffin sort of mixture. I love it when I recieve unexpected gifts, especially when they taste so good.

Take today for example, I haven't exactly had the best day (a few people have decided to upset me and I'm not really sure why). However, my darling of a mum knew this, and so when she went to Waitrose this afternoon-other supermarkets are avialable- she bought me back a pack of dried mango- my absolute favourite snack- and to top it off she also bought me a little tub of Ben and Jerry's cookie dough ice cream! I was beside myself. I have almost finished the whole pack of mango, and I am saving the other half of the ice cream for tomorrow night. It can be my X Factor ice cream.

So today has been a day of ups and downs for me, but it is on the up now, as I went supermarket deal hunting with my Uncle and picked up a lobster from Waitrose for a fiver! I can't wait to have it for lunch tomorrow, I have never tried it before- I'll take a picture of it for you, don't worry.

Video(s) of the Week

It's that time again, and this week my video of the week comes in two parts.

Some of you may have seen this before, and if you watched Rd Nose Day in March this year then you deffinitely would have. My sister was watching these earlier, and it made me realise that this part was the highlight of my night.

For those of you who don't know, Comic Relief is a charity that helps people living in poverty in Great Britain and in Africa. Their motto is 'do something funny for money', and this is deffinitely true in this case.

The three woman in these videos are Miranda Heart, Claudia Winkleman and Roxy Heart. I'm sure you will agree that after watching these videos, that they are all very funny woman, especially when in a kitchen.

The basis for these videos is that they are preparing a meal for top food critics and the Prime Minister (David Cameron), at number 10, in a Master Chef style show. It is extremly funny, especially due to the fact that none of them can cook, and one doesn't even know how to use a whisk.

Mother Nature Hates Me

I've had an eventful day today. I don't know if some people will call it that, I didn't do that much. But it's eventful aswhat I did, will stay wit hme for the next 10 years. Yes. That's right. Today, I had my passport photo taken.

The day started off alright, I went to the hairdresser's, I got my hair cut and straightened. Then I went to get a cheeky free make over at MAC (I came out of it with a foundation, concealer and brush- but a girl needs make-up!) Then the horror started happening. My hair started to get a life of it's own and decided to frizz up on me. Mother Nature didn't really help, she thought it would be a good idea and decided that it would be funny if I looked like a drowned rat in my photo. But you know what, I came prepared with frizz-ease in my bad and everything, just incase such a situation would occur.

So I arrived at the photo shop with relitavely frizzy hair and huddled under my umbrella. Then it happened. When the guy was about  to take my photo, I got into a giggle fit. If you don't know, this could be the worse possible thing to happen when taking your passport photo, as you are not allowed to smile. It seemed like this fit went on for ever, but I finally pulled a 'straight' face long enough and got the photo. Or so I thought. A few minutes after, the guy came out again and said that the picture of me was too smiley, and that he needed to take it again.

At this moment in time, the poor photographer looke dpretty fed up. I think he was in his 20's and I'm pretty sure that a hysterical/derranged teenager was the last thing that he needed on a Thursday afternoon. But thankfully, this time I didn't get into any fits of laughter, and after about the third shot, I was sort of happy with the outcome. However, let me just say that the photo taken was the best of a bad bunch. I have realised that I have quite a chubby face, because of this, I now have a photo where it looks like I have eaten a whole bag of oreos right before it being taken. I have this photo in my passport for the next 10 years. I will be almost 26 years if age when I can finally change the photo. I'm just counting down the days.

All I can say that it is better than my last photo. Last time I had a cold- big red nose and swollen eyes included. So one positive thing is that I don't look like Rudolph the bleedin Red Nose Reindeer.
